Hawaii has adopted goals to achieve a carbon negative economy by 2045, with transportation accounting for the majority of current emissions.

State is urged to strongly encourage development and deployment of zero emissions interisland transportation using electric aircraft and watercraft technologies.

Department of Business, Economic Development, and Tourism and Department of Transportation are requested to accelerate efforts to assist with developing and deploying zero emissions interisland transportation.

Relevant state departments are requested to plan for and identify necessary infrastructure including charging facilities, docks, and other support systems required for zero emissions interisland transportation.

Certified copies are to be transmitted to the Governor, Director of Business Economic Development and Tourism, Director of Transportation, and Chairperson of the Board of Land and Natural Resources.
