Hawaii Health Systems Corporation is requested to convene a task force to review findings from a feasibility study and health care needs assessment to identify the need for a hospital in North Kona.

Task force is requested to collaborate with the Department of Land and Natural Resources to conduct site assessments and identify viable locations for a new North Kona hospital.

Task force membership includes a Senate member, House member, Director of Health, Department of Land and Natural Resources Chairperson, West Hawaii Regional CEO, Queen's North Hawaii Community Hospital representative, and West Hawaii Regional Health System Board member.

Initial task force meeting must be held no later than June 1, 2022, with findings and recommendations due to the Legislature no later than twenty days before the 2023 Regular Session.

Task force is requested to be dissolved on June 30, 2023.
