Request the State Auditor to assess the social and financial effects of mandating health insurance coverage for oocyte cryopreservation (egg freezing) procedures, as proposed in S.B. No. 2917, S.D. 2.

Require the Auditor to survey other states that have implemented oocyte cryopreservation mandates and examine their social and financial impacts.

Direct the Auditor to research the standard medical definition of "reproductive age" for oocyte cryopreservation, examine success rates by age group, and determine appropriate coverage benefit limitations.

Require examination of whether oocyte cryopreservation coverage would exceed essential health benefits under federal law and analysis of alternative, more cost-effective infertility treatment options.

Direct the Auditor to research complex legal issues surrounding frozen eggs, including storage duration, destruction procedures, use in research or instruction, and disposition in cases of donor death or separation.

Require the Auditor to submit findings and recommendations to the Legislature no later than twenty days before the 2023 Regular Session convening.
