Request Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs' Division of Professional and Vocational Licensing, with Board of Psychology assistance, to convene a task force to develop legislation granting prescriptive authority to qualified psychologists in Hawaii.

Task force must review and evaluate laws from other states where psychologists have prescriptive authority, including patient outcomes and necessary additional training requirements for Hawaii practitioners.

Task force must determine whether the University of Hawaii has personnel to provide advanced psychopharmacology training necessary for psychologists to prescribe medications.

Task force must develop appropriate legislation granting prescriptive authority to trained psychologists and submit findings, recommendations, and proposed legislation to the Legislature no later than 20 days before the 2023 Regular Session.

Task force is dissolved on June 30, 2023.
