Request Department of Education to conduct comparison study for school year 2021-2022 comparing average per-classroom supply expenses in counties with populations under 200,000 versus counties with populations over 200,000.

Require Department of Education to submit report with findings, recommendations, and any proposed legislation to the Legislature no later than twenty days before the 2023 Regular Session convenes.

Request Department of Education to reimburse teachers in counties with populations under 200,000 for all personal funds reasonably and necessarily spent on essential and additional classroom supplies.

Acknowledge that teachers outside large urban areas face higher expenses for classroom supplies due to lack of access to large discount retailers and often purchase supplies with personal funds.
