Request the State Auditor to conduct a comprehensive performance and management audit of the Child Welfare Services Branch (CWSB) of the Department of Human Services.

Auditor must examine effectiveness of and compliance with CWSB policies and procedures including investigation and substantiation of child abuse and neglect reports, risk assessment methods, safeguarding of child and family rights, and coordination with county police and the Attorney General's Family Law Division.

Auditor must review CWSB's Child Abuse and Neglect Registry database maintenance and oversight of all child welfare offices statewide.

Auditor must examine and provide recommendations for additional personnel and resources needed for CWSB to effectively investigate abuse and neglect allegations and perform its duties.

Auditor must submit findings, recommendations, and any proposed legislation to the Legislature no later than forty days before the 2023 Regular Session convenes.
