Urges the Department of Land and Natural Resources to develop programs to recapture, retain, and share cultural and environmental knowledge of limu kala (a type of Hawaiian seaweed).

Identifies four endemic species of limu kala found in Hawaii: S. echniocarpum, S. hawaiiensis, S. obtusifolium, and S. polyphyllum.

Notes limu kala's uses in traditional Hawaiian culture including treatment for cuts and scratches, use in hooponopono (conflict resolution), protection of ocean voyagers, and as bait for reef fish.

Cites the decline of limu kala populations statewide and associated decline in nearshore fish populations due to loss of traditional cultural knowledge.

Recognizes 2022 as the Governor's designated year of limu and directs transmission of the resolution to the Governor and Chairperson of the Board of Land and Natural Resources.
