State Procurement Office is requested to convene a working group to propose legislation allowing state departments and agencies to refurbish electronic devices for reuse.

Working group membership includes the State Procurement Office Administrator (chair), State Comptroller, Attorney General representative, Department of Education representative, Office of Enterprise Technology Services representative, and representatives from refurbishing, recycling, and electronics industries, plus an environmental nonprofit representative and state legislators from each county.

Chair is authorized to invite additional parties to participate in the working group as necessary.

Working group must submit findings, recommendations, and proposed legislation to the Legislature prior to the 2023 Regular Session.

Certified copies of the resolution are to be transmitted to the State Procurement Office Administrator, State Comptroller, Attorney General, Superintendent of Education, and Chief Information Officer of the Office of Enterprise Technology Services.
