University of Hawaii - West Oahu is requested to partner with University of Hawaii at Hilo or University of Hawaii at Manoa to provide a nursing program similar to the canceled Ike Mauli Ola program.

The Ike Mauli Ola program, launched in fall 2015, allowed West Oahu students to complete pre-nursing coursework and then pursue a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree at the Hilo campus, with courses delivered in Kapolei.

Program was canceled in 2017, eliminating a nursing pathway for central and west Oahu residents.

University of Hawaii - West Oahu is requested to independently establish or seek partnerships for a permanent nursing program to address the State's nursing shortage highlighted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Certified copies of the resolution are to be transmitted to the President of the University of Hawaii System, Provost of University of Hawaii at Manoa, Chancellor of University of Hawaii - West Oahu, and Chancellor of University of Hawaii at Hilo.
