Expresses support for naming a United States Navy surface combatant ship after Fireman Second Class Telesforo Trinidad, a Congressional Medal of Honor recipient.

Trinidad received the Medal of Honor in 1915 for extraordinary heroism during boiler explosions aboard the USS San Diego (ACR-6) in the Gulf of California on January 21, 1915, when he brought two crewmembers to safety despite being physically injured.

Trinidad is the only Asian American and only Filipino American in the United States Navy to have received a Congressional Medal of Honor.

Naming a Navy ship after Trinidad would honor the service of tens of thousands of Filipinos and Filipino Americans in the U.S. Navy since 1901 and mark the 75th anniversary of U.S.-Philippines diplomatic relations and the 70th anniversary of their Mutual Defense Treaty.

Directs transmission of certified copies of the resolution to the Secretary of the United States Navy and members of the Hawaii congressional delegation.
