Request the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations to collect data on Hawaii's information technology workforce development, including current courses, trainings, programs, and internship opportunities offered by public and private organizations.

Require collection of data on information technology certifications and licenses issued in Hawaii, including types of certifications and annual issuance numbers by category.

Require collection of current information on individuals who completed IT courses, training, programs, or obtained certifications/licenses, including their occupation, industry, and current state or country of residence.

Direct the Department to evaluate collected data and develop a strategy to improve information technology training and retain trained workers in Hawaii to build the state's IT workforce.

Require submission of findings, recommendations, and any proposed legislation to the Legislature no later than twenty days prior to the Regular Session of 2023.
