Department of Transportation Highways Division is requested to conduct a study of existing road load capacity in the Seventh Senate District within Maui County, including areas where infrastructure investment would be most effective.

Study should examine the volume and weight of vehicles that roadways can sustain, addressing concerns about significant traffic volumes in Maui County that create safety risks.

Department must prepare a report of findings and recommendations, including actions taken, progress made, and any proposed legislation.

Report must be submitted to the Legislature no later than thirty days prior to the convening of the Regular Session of 2023.

A certified copy of the concurrent resolution will be transmitted to the Administrator of the Department of Transportation Highways Division.
