Urges Hawaii counties and state government to work with Huamakahikina and Kumu Hula to establish new policies protecting hula as a centuries-old Hawaiian cultural and spiritual art form.

Identifies problems including cultural misappropriation and exploitation of hula by unrecognized teachers, spread of incorrect choreography and designs, and insufficient intellectual property protections for Kumu Hula.

Calls for increased resources including public funding and facilities to address hula protection, recognition in the professional labor market, and preservation for future generations.

Requires transmission of certified copies to the Governor, Chief Executive Officer of the Office of Hawaiian Affairs, and each county Mayor.
