Requests the University of Hawaii to submit a report on the Pamantasan Council's systemwide efforts to improve the status of Filipinos at the university.

Report must include information on the 2019 appropriation (Act 266, SLH 2019 for 2.0 FTE positions), resource and budgetary needs, curriculum development recommendations, and representation and success of Filipino students, faculty, and staff.

Appropriated funds are currently being used to support a University of Hawaii Maui College lecturer for distance education Ilokano courses and for development of a community college-level certificate in Filipino Studies.

University of Hawaii must submit findings and recommendations, including any proposed legislation, to the Legislature no later than twenty days before the 2023 Regular Session.

Addresses concerns that Filipinos represent one-quarter of Hawaii's population but face underrepresentation in undergraduate and graduate programs at four-year campuses and among faculty systemwide.
