Director of Transportation requested to convene a task force to study best practices for greening transportation and public infrastructure in jurisdictions outside of Hawaii.

Task force composition includes a Senate member (co-chair appointed by President of Senate), House member (co-chair appointed by Speaker), Director of Transportation, Board of Land and Natural Resources Chairperson, Director of Office of Planning and Sustainable Development, Comptroller, and other stakeholders.

Task force directed to survey successful green infrastructure efforts in other jurisdictions and analyze procedural steps necessary for the State and counties to implement greening of existing and planned transportation and public infrastructure.

Task force required to submit findings, recommendations, and any proposed legislation to the Legislature no later than twenty days prior to the 2023 Regular Session convening.

Department of Transportation requested to provide statistics and information as needed to assist the task force in completing the study.
