Hawaii Health Systems Corporation is requested to convene a task force to review feasibility study findings and identify the need for a hospital to serve North Kona.

Task force is directed to collaborate with the Department of Land and Natural Resources' Land Division to conduct a site assessment and evaluate viable locations for a new hospital in North Kona.

Task force membership includes representatives from the Senate, House of Representatives, Department of Health, Department of Land and Natural Resources, Hawaii Health Systems Corporation West Hawaii Region, Queen's North Hawaii Community Hospital, and West Hawaii Regional Health System Board of Directors.

Initial task force meeting must be held no later than June 1, 2022, with a final report due to the Legislature no later than twenty days prior to the convening of the Regular Session of 2023.

Task force is requested to dissolve on June 30, 2023.
