Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs' Division of Professional and Vocational Licensing, with assistance from the Board of Psychology, requested to convene a task force to develop legislation granting prescriptive authority to qualified psychologists in Hawaii.

Task force must include members from other prescribing professions amenable to psychologist prescriptive authority and licensed psychologists in the State.

Task force directed to review prescriptive authority laws in other states, evaluate necessary training and conditions for Hawaii psychologists, assess University of Hawaii's capacity to provide advanced training, and draft appropriate legislation.

Task force required to submit findings, recommendations, and proposed legislation to the Legislature no later than twenty days before the Regular Session of 2023.

Task force dissolved on June 30, 2023.
