Expresses support for naming a United States Navy surface combatant ship after Fireman Second Class Telesforo Trinidad, a Congressional Medal of Honor recipient.

Trinidad received the Medal of Honor in 1915 (General Order Number 142) for extraordinary heroism aboard the USS San Diego (ACR-6) when he rescued two crewmembers despite being injured during boiler explosions in the Gulf of California on January 21, 1915.

Trinidad is the only Asian American and only Filipino American in the United States Navy to have received a Medal of Honor.

Naming a Navy ship after Trinidad would honor Filipino and Filipino American service in the Navy since 1901, demonstrate the Navy's commitment to diversity and inclusion, commemorate the 75th anniversary of U.S.-Philippines diplomatic relations and the 70th anniversary of the Mutual Defense Treaty, and create the first Navy ship named after an American of Filipino descent.

Directs transmission of certified copies of this resolution to the Secretary of the United States Navy and members of the Hawaii congressional delegation.
