Request the Hawaii Council for the Humanities, State Foundation on Culture and the Arts, and Hawaii State Public Library System to collaborate on establishing a Hawaii State Poet Laureate Program.

Program components may include periodic appointment of a Hawaii poet laureate, promotion of reading and poetry appreciation, literary and cultural workshops, and gatherings of writers, poets, storytellers, and musicians from Hawaii's multi-ethnic cultures.

State Foundation on Culture and the Arts must submit a report to the Legislature no later than twenty days before the 2023 Regular Session, including collaborative efforts, findings, recommendations, implementation plan, and any proposed legislation.

Resolution recognizes Hawaii's rich multicultural heritage expressed through Hawaiian mele, oli, and mo'olelo, and the role poetry plays in promoting dialogue, understanding, and civic engagement.
