Office of the Auditor is requested to update its Child Welfare Services Branch assessment standard to include the second Program Improvement Plan required by the United States Department of Health and Human Services in 2010.

Performance audit must include the triage procedure required by the federal Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act as reauthorized by the Keeping Children and Families Safe Act of 2003.

Office of the Auditor must submit its performance audit, including findings, recommendations, and proposed legislation, to the Legislature no later than twenty days prior to the convening of the Regular Session of 2023.

Certified copies of the resolution must be transmitted to the Auditor, Director of Human Services, and Administrator of the Child Welfare Services Branch.

Resolution references the Child Welfare Services Branch's prior failures on three federal Child and Family Services Reviews (2003, 2009, and 2017) and an 87-vacant position staff shortage as of 2022.
