Requests establishment of a task force to examine the feasibility of renaming streets named after individuals with problematic histories.

Task force should apply criteria for renaming decisions based on whether individuals owned slaves, engaged in racialized or gender violence, circumvented democratic rights, attempted to overthrow legitimate government, or suppressed Hawaiian language and culture.

Task force must produce a list of potential streets meeting the criteria and prepare feasibility reports for renaming each candidate street.

Task force should invite participation from additional organizations and agencies and include representatives from state and county governments.

Preliminary report and recommendations must be submitted to the Legislature no later than 40 days before the 2023 Regular Session convenes.
