Replace the term "school health aides" with "school health assistants" throughout Hawaii Revised Statutes to reflect updated Department of Education job titles.

Authorize school health assistants to administer oral, nasal, topical, and emergency premeasured medications (including auto-injectable epinephrine, bronchodilators, and seizure rescue medication) with approval from a health care professional within the Department of Education, Department of Health, or a contracted health care service.

Expand medication approval authority beyond the Department of Health to include health care professionals employed by the Department of Education or working under written agreement with the Department of Education.

Define "health care professional" for purposes of medication administration approval as physicians, surgeons, and individuals licensed under chapters 453 and 457 (nurses and related practitioners).

Effective date: July 1, 2050.
