HB 12 Summary

• Amends Hawaii Revised Statutes § 514E-10 to clarify requirements for developers registering time share plans with out-of-state units.

• Requires developers to certify that they have reviewed and concluded that out-of-state time share units comply with zoning and land use laws of their respective jurisdictions.

• Eliminates the requirement for developers to submit evidence or documentation proving compliance with out-of-state zoning and land use regulations during the registration process.

• Applies only to time share units located outside Hawaii; time share units within Hawaii remain subject to existing county zoning designation and documentation requirements.

• Effective June 30, 3000.
