Commission on Water Resource Management and Division of Aquatic Resources of the Department of Land and Natural Resources shall conduct research on limu in partnership with the University of Hawaii and Department of Health to understand impacts of groundwater use on groundwater-dependent ecosystems

Joint report from the Commission, Division, University of Hawaii, and Department of Health must be submitted to the legislature no later than twenty days before the regular session of 2026 with findings, recommendations, and any proposed legislation

General revenues are appropriated for fiscal years 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 to fund the limu research, with amounts to be determined and expended by the Department of Land and Natural Resources

Act takes effect on June 30, 3000
