HB 141 Summary

• Requires state legislators to disclose names of lobbyists subject to section 97-3 who are their business partners, employers, officers/directors of their employer, or clients providing at least $5,000 in income during the preceding calendar year.

• Defines "member's partner" to include spouses under chapter 572, civil union partners under chapter 572B, and reciprocal beneficiaries under chapter 572C for purposes of disclosure requirements.

• Makes minor technical corrections to section 84-17, Hawaii Revised Statutes, including changing "interest" to "interests" and "prior to" to "before" in various subsections.

• Effective January 1, 2025.
