Amends Section 249-6.5, Hawaii Revised Statutes, to modify vehicle weight tax exemptions for noncommercial motor vehicles.

Removes the existing exemption for military reserves and other active duty military personnel (other than National Guard members assigned to units in the State).

Adds a new exemption for veterans who have served in any armed service of the United States and were not dishonorably discharged.

Allows one noncommercial motor vehicle registered to a qualifying veteran to be exempt from vehicle weight tax.

Takes effect July 1, 2023.
