Requires the Legislative Reference Bureau to conduct a study on appropriate increases to Hawaii's homestead exemption in bankruptcy proceedings under section 651-92, Hawaii Revised Statutes.

Study must examine and compare real property and homestead exemptions in states similar in size or tax structure to Hawaii, including how other states apply these exemptions.

Study shall assess fiscal implications to the State, counties, and private sectors from increasing the homestead exemption, and evaluate the number and frequency of homestead exemption claims in Hawaii.

Legislative Reference Bureau may solicit input from individuals and entities deemed necessary to complete the study.

Report with findings, recommendations, and proposed legislation must be submitted to the legislature no later than twenty days before the 2024 regular session convenes.
