HB 329 Summary

• Requires new residential construction offered for sale at fair market value to include solar conduit and electrical panel readiness, consisting of conduits (minimum 1.5 inches) from electrical panel to inverter location and to roof, plus locations for inverters, metering equipment, and battery storage equipment.

• Mandates electrical panels with capacity to accommodate at least a 5-kilowatt alternating current photovoltaic system for new single-family residences and each unit in two-family detached residences or duplexes.

• Requires multi-family residences to install electrical panels with reserved space labeled "solar photovoltaic ready," sized to serve common-area loads or based on available roof space.

• Requires a dedicated alternating current level 2 electric vehicle charging receptacle when building permits involve installation of both an electrical panel and parking area for single-family residences, two-family detached residences, duplexes, or multi-family residences of three or fewer stories.

• Takes effect July 1, 3000 (note: effective date appears to contain a typographical error).
