• Appropriates funds for salaries and fringe benefits of five full-time equivalent positions at the Ko education center within Hawaii community college for fiscal years 2023-2024 and 2024-2025.

• Five positions to be funded include: auxiliary and facility services officer, career and technical education and career pathways specialist, lab coordinator for the career and technical education wing, administration and fiscal specialist, and faculty for career and technical education programs.

• Ko education center lost 67% of its permanent positions (six total, five instruction and support roles) following its 2019 transfer from University of Hawaii at Hilo to Hawaii community college and the 2019 coronavirus pandemic.

• Since 2020, all roles except buildings and grounds maintenance have been performed by the center's director, temporary hires, and student employees.

• Funds to be expended by the University of Hawaii for the purposes of this Act.
