Allows surviving immediate family members of deceased persons to request and receive a copy of the police closing report prepared by the investigating police department.

Report must be provided upon the conclusion of any criminal proceedings, passage of five years after report completion, or passage of seven years after the underlying incident, whichever occurs first.

Police department may delay providing the report if the investigation has been reopened within six months before the request, but must provide it upon conclusion of the reopened investigation.

Closing report may be provided electronically or in physical paper form, according to the requester's preference.

"Surviving immediate family member" includes grandparents, parents, siblings, spouses, reciprocal beneficiaries, children, or legal guardians of the deceased; Act sunsets on June 30, 2025.
