Adds a new section to Chapter 387, Hawaii Revised Statutes, requiring warehouse employees who earn an hourly wage to receive one-half hour of paid break for every eight hours of work performed.

Paid break time does not count toward hours worked for the purposes of calculating overtime compensation under section 387-3.

Effective date is July 1, 2023.

Does not affect rights, duties, or penalties that arose or proceedings that began before the effective date.
