Establishes a task force to review Hawaii's food security and food safety practices and ensure compliance with the federal Food Safety Modernization Act for all food imports including meat, produce, and dairy products.

Task force shall develop recommendations to prevent imported foods from misleading consumers through packaging, advertising, or labeling that implies Hawaiian origin or freshness equivalent to locally-grown products.

Task force composition includes the director of health, two senate members, two house committee chairpersons (agriculture & food systems, and health & homelessness), one University of Hawaii agriculture professor, and two private Hawaii-based food distribution business owners.

Task force shall submit findings and recommendations to the legislature no later than 20 days before the 2024 regular session convening, and shall dissolve on June 30, 2024.

Department of Health shall provide administrative and clerical support to the task force; members serve without compensation.
