Amends section 701-108, Hawaii Revised Statutes, to define "public servant" in the context of time limitations for prosecuting misconduct in office.

Replaces the phrase "public officer or employee" with "public servant" in subsection (3)(b) to clarify terminology for misconduct in office prosecutions.

Defines "public servant" to have the same meaning as provided in section 710-1000 of the Hawaii Revised Statutes.

Maintains existing time limitation provisions allowing prosecution for misconduct in office offenses while the defendant is in public office or employment, or within two years thereafter, not extending the limitation period by more than three years.

Takes effect upon approval.
