Request the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations to conduct a study of exemptions to Hawaii's minimum wage law under Hawaii Revised Statutes section 387-1.

Study should specifically examine exemptions from the definition of "employee" including agricultural employees at farms with fewer than twenty employees, coffee harvesters, domestic caretakers, administrative and supervisory employees, and fish catchers.

Study should determine whether any of the existing exemptions should be repealed to ensure working families can meet basic needs amid Hawaii's high cost of living.

Department must submit findings, recommendations, and any proposed legislation to the Legislature no later than twenty days before the Regular Session of 2024.
