Urges the City and County of Honolulu to intervene at Sunset Memorial Park in Pearl City and use legal means to take control of the cemetery.

Sunset Memorial Park has been in legal limbo since the owning company involuntarily dissolved in 2006 and its owner died in 2011, leaving no responsible party.

The cemetery has experienced years of neglect resulting in sunken graves, overgrown vegetation, vandalism, theft of ashes from copper urns, and accidental fires from homeless encampments.

The park currently relies on volunteers for maintenance and has an available trust fund of $168,000, but legal issues prevent access to these funds; property taxes remain unpaid from 2019 to 2022.

Directs transmission of the resolution to the Mayor of the City and County of Honolulu, the Honolulu City Council member representing District VIII, and the chairperson of Pearl City Neighborhood Board No. 21.
