Request the State Auditor to conduct a performance audit of all programs within the State Historic Preservation Division of the Department of Land and Natural Resources.

Audit scope includes evaluation of staffing and resources adequacy, timeliness of project reviews, current review practices, record retention methodologies, and monitoring protocols standardization.

Audit must examine efforts to address the existing project review backlog and identify recommended improvements including proposed legislation to update the division's mission and organization.

Auditor must submit findings and recommendations to the Legislature no later than twenty days prior to the convening of the Regular Session of 2024.
