Department of the Attorney General is requested to conduct a feasibility study on creating a domestic violence registry modeled after Hawaii's sex offender registry under chapter 846E.

Study must evaluate which domestic violence offenses should be included, legal and constitutional obstacles, and logistics, costs, enforcement mechanisms, and utility of such a registry.

Study should consider whether the registry could be modeled after the existing sex offender registry system or use an alternative approach.

Attorney General must submit findings, recommendations, and any proposed legislation to the Legislature no later than twenty days before the 2024 Regular Session convening.

Resolution references similar domestic violence registries created in West Virginia (2009), Indiana, Texas (2013), and proposed legislation in New York and Kansas as models for the feasibility assessment.
