Urges the Committee on Weights to recommend a weighted student formula to the Board of Education that provides greater consideration for small and remote rural schools.

Urges the Board of Education to adopt a weighted student formula that gives greater consideration to small and remote rural schools based on the Committee on Weights' recommendation.

Identifies that small schools lack adequate student enrollment and subsequent funding to properly staff schools under the current weighted student formula established by the Reinventing Education Act of 2004.

Notes that geographically isolated schools face additional challenges due to distance from essential services and that a 2013 American Institutes of Research evaluation documented funding disparities between small and remote rural schools and other schools in the State.

Requires certified copies of the resolution be transmitted to the Board of Education Chairperson, Superintendent of Education, and Committee on Weights Chairperson.
