Request the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands to identify resources needed to repair unoccupied properties in disrepair for safe habitation

Department must systematically identify unoccupied properties to confirm occupancy status, lease status, and reasons for current conditions

Department must assist current lessees in assessing needed repairs and connect them with funding sources, including the Native American Housing Assistance and Self Determination Act of 1996

Department must manage alternative funding sources, expedite pending lease transfers, and conduct contested case hearings as needed

Department must submit findings and identified resources to the Legislature no later than twenty days before the 2024 Regular Session convening
