University of Hawaii at Manoa College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources (CTAHR) is requested to convene a working group to evaluate updating its extension sites across the islands.

CTAHR manages eighteen agricultural research stations distributed across Kauai, Oahu, Maui, Molokai, and Hawaii that conduct research, education, and cooperative extension activities.

The working group is requested to submit a report with findings, recommendations, and any proposed legislation to the Legislature no later than twenty days prior to the 2024 Regular Session.

The resolution identifies aging infrastructure, deferred maintenance, and lack of modernization investment as serious constraints on the research network's effectiveness.

Certified copies of the resolution are to be transmitted to the President of the University of Hawaii, Chairperson of the Board of Regents, and Dean of CTAHR.
