Request the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations to conduct a study of exemptions to Hawaii's minimum wage law under section 387-1, Hawaii Revised Statutes

Study should specifically evaluate whether exemptions for agricultural employees at farms with fewer than twenty people, coffee harvesters, domestic caretakers, administrative and supervisory employees, fish catchers, and student employees of nonprofit schools should be repealed

Department must submit findings and recommendations, including any proposed legislation, to the Legislature no later than twenty days before the 2024 Regular Session convenes

Resolution notes that Hawaii minimum wage increased from $12 per hour beginning October 1, 2022, to a scheduled $18 per hour by January 1, 2028 under Act 114, Session Laws of Hawaii 2022
