SB 1326 Summary

• Amends Section 431:10A-116 to clarify insurance coverage for visual/optometric services, surgical/emergency dental procedures, psychological services, and mammography screening by replacing "which" with "that" in statutory language.

• Requires mammography coverage terms at least as favorable to insured as other radiological examinations, including deductibles, copayments, and dollar limits; applies to policies issued after February 1, 1991.

• Modifies external review procedures in Sections 432E-34, 432E-35, and 432E-36 to allow the Insurance Commissioner to override health carrier ineligibility determinations and require external review consideration.

• Requires health carriers to provide all documents and information related to external review requests to independent review organizations, not just documents considered in the initial adverse action determination.

• Takes effect July 1, 2050.
