S.B. 1468 - Right of Entry for Professional Surveyors

• Authorizes licensed professional land surveyors and their assistants to enter private property and adjoining lands at reasonable times to conduct surveys with advance written notice to landowners.

• Requires surveyors to provide written notice specifying the date, time, duration, description of work, and notification that landowners may object in writing before entry occurs.

• Allows landowners to refuse entry by submitting a timely written objection; if a landowner objects, the surveyor cannot enter that property.

• Requires surveyors to carry government-issued photo identification, their professional license or seal, and a copy of the notice when performing surveys on private property.

• Amends criminal trespass statutes to exempt professional land surveyors from trespass prosecution when performing surveys with proper notice, similar to existing exemptions for process servers.
