S.B. 319 Summary

• Establishes a working group to study the feasibility and effects of Hawaii adopting the Recognition of Emergency Medical Services Personnel Licensure Interstate Compact.

• Working group shall examine the beneficial impact of the compact, its implementation and administration, and the economic feasibility of adoption.

• Working group composed of seven members: one from the Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs (chair), one from the U.S. Department of Defense-State Liaison Office, one state senator, one state representative, two members of the public, and one member of the Council of State Governments.

• Working group shall submit findings, recommendations, and any proposed legislation to the legislature no later than twenty days before the 2024 regular session convenes.

• Members of the working group shall serve without compensation and the act takes effect on December 31, 2050.
