S.B. 410 Summary

• Prohibits the Judiciary and Examiner of Drivers from including dismissed traffic citations on driver's records, traffic abstracts, or publicly accessible electronic databases.

• Requires courts to automatically seal or remove all judiciary files and information related to arrests or cases from the Judiciary's publicly accessible electronic databases when an expungement order is entered, eliminating the need for a separate petition.

• Amends Hawaii Revised Statutes sections 286-172, 286-245, 287-3, and 831-3.2 to implement these record-sealing requirements across relevant state agencies and court systems.

• Takes effect on July 1, 2024.
