Department of Health shall conduct a feasibility study on implementing a pilot program to integrate FDA-approved prescription digital therapeutics into outpatient treatment programs for persons with substance use disorder or opioid use disorder in Hawaii

Study must evaluate financial effects, oversight requirements, impact on existing healthcare providers, suitable agencies and facilities, appropriate digital therapeutic products, and outcome evaluation frameworks

Study must analyze demographics and needs of affected populations, costs and benefits of various products including security and privacy considerations, and how government entities can provide medical assistance coverage

Department of Health shall submit findings, recommendations, and any proposed legislation to the legislature no later than twenty days before the 2024 regular legislative session

Act takes effect December 31, 2050
