SB831 Summary

• Authorizes the Department of Agriculture to acquire, accept by grant, or purchase real, personal, or mixed property for its immediate or future use within its mandate.

• Grants the Department authority to own, hold, improve, and rehabilitate acquired property and to sell, assign, exchange, transfer, convey, lease, or otherwise dispose of or encumber such property as deemed appropriate.

• Amends Hawaii Revised Statutes Section 141-1 by adding a new subsection (10) to codify the Department's property acquisition and management powers.

• Takes effect on June 30, 3000.
