Authorizes school complexes in Hawaii to incorporate media literacy into standards-based curriculum as appropriate, including content addressing misinformation, disinformation, digital discrimination, and online hate speech.

Adds subsection (g) to Section 302A-321, Hawaii Revised Statutes, establishing the authorization for media literacy integration across K-12 standards-based curriculum.

Finds that disinformation and online hate speech pose pervasive threats to society, citing incidents including mass shootings and the January 6, 2020 Capitol insurrection, and notes that over 78 percent of U.S. adults believed or were unsure about false COVID-19 statements as of November 2021.

States that the bill aims to advance informed digital citizenship in Hawaii's public education system by empowering schools to teach media literacy as part of existing curriculum standards.

Takes effect upon approval.
