S.B. No. 966 - Solid Waste Disposal Penalties

• Amends Section 342H-37 to establish a class C felony for illegal solid waste disposal with a maximum fine of $50,000 per offense and subjects any vehicle owned and operated in commission of the offense to forfeiture under chapter 712A.

• Amends Section 342H-39 to modify petty misdemeanor penalties for illegal solid waste disposal to include fines of no more than $25,000 per offense, imprisonment of no more than 30 days per offense, or revocation/suspension of contractor licenses or public utilities commission certificates.

• Adds vehicle forfeiture provision to petty misdemeanor disposal offense, making any vehicle owned and operated during commission of the offense subject to forfeiture under chapter 712A.

• Takes effect on June 30, 3000.
