Requests the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands to identify resources needed to repair unoccupied properties in disrepair and make them safe and habitable

Department must systematically identify unoccupied properties to confirm occupancy status, lease status, and reasons for current conditions

Department must assist current lessees in assessing needed repairs, connect them with funding sources such as the Native American Housing Assistance and Self Determination Act of 1996, and manage alternative funding sources

Department must expedite pending lease transfers and conduct contested case hearings as needed to address housing issues

Department must submit a report of findings and identified resources to the Legislature no later than twenty days before the convening of the Regular Session of 2024
